Bronx Lost Synagogues Walking Tour #1

$20Join this walking tour to see several former synagogues and other Jewish institutions in the mid-Grand Concourse area and some surrounding avenues. We will stop by a few of the best-known “lost synagogues” in the area, and others. The tour will be led by Ellen Levitt, author of The Lost Synagogues of the Bronx and Queens (2011), published by Avotaynu, and two other books in the series.
Meet at the Tremont Avenue subway station (D train) on the sidewalk. The station is on the Grand Concourse at Echo Place, and we will meet on the western side of the Concourse by the light-blue corner building.
Cost is $20 for one person, $35 for two. A portion of this fee will be donated to the Bronx Jewish Historical Initiative (BxJHI) for its programming.

Wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera! Please wear modest clothing if you want to visit the inside of some of the former shuls that are now churches.
