KulturfestNYC is the first-ever international festival of Jewish performing arts, celebrating the global impact of Jewish culture. Presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene at MJH, now celebrating its centennial season, in collaboration with UJA-Federation of New York and Capital One Bank, the weeklong festivities will commence June 14th and run through June 21st all day and night jam-packed with incredible theatre, music, dance, film, cuisine, street performances, family programs, panels, lectures to inspire and entertain you. With over 70 partners/sponsors, more than 30 countries represented, and an eclectic plethora of event venues throughout NYC, join us for this history-making endeavor!

The award-winning National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, the longest running Yiddish theater in the world, has defied all odds to survive and has flourished for the past 100 years. We invite everyone from around the world to celebrate this milestone with us.

We will present theater performances, outdoor concerts, films, dance, a symposium, nightly Klezkabarets, exhibits, lectures, and workshops. Theatre artists, musicians, and scholars in participation will represent over 30 countries across the globe.

YIDDISH AND JEWISH STYLES FROM AROUND THE WORLD. Debuts, premieres and collaborations from Klezmer to Yiddish theatre songs, Jazz, classical works by Jewish composers and cutting edge Jewish Punk and late night KlezKabarets.
FILM
FILMS IN YIDDISH, ENGLISH, AND OTHER LANGUAGES (with subtitles) including new feature films, recently restored classics, filmed plays and contemporary documentaries exploring Yiddish theater, language and culture. An array of guest speakers, including film directors, will provide stimulating insights.
SYMPOSIA
INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED scholars of Yiddish theater, history and Yiddish language, will discuss, explore, and delve into the Influence of Yiddish Theater on American and International Theater, Film and Culture. In partnership with NYU.
